Notes 5 Inbox - sort by date order

Each time I start Notes 5, my inbox lists emails with the most recent at the top.

I prefer it the other way round, with new emails at the bottom of the view. I know you can click the 'Date' arrow to sort items, but can I change the view to default so I don't have to do this every time I log into Notes?

Go to
File -> Preferences -> User Preferences
and check 'Retail View Column sorting' in the list of Additional Options.

Just a remark:

Call me crazy, but the default sort order in R5 is the last e-mail at the bottom...

So if you do not select the option "Retain View column sorting" the mails should actually end up at the bottom. If not: somebody probably changed the mail template to change the default sorting. In that case you actually need to select the option as Lesle indicated...

if someone changed the mail template then the chances are that retain view column sorting does not work. I was asked to make a change to enable sorting either way by clicking on the header - it no longer works with retain view column sorting.

People live with it now because it only takes a second to flick it round.

It seems the mail template we use here has been designed to show new emails at the top, but the 'retain view column sorting' still works OK.

Although it took a reboot before it came into effect...
