I have Lotus Notes 5.0.3 (U.S./Canada), which is listed as compatible with Windows 95, 98, and NT 4.0. I'd like to install this program on a computer running under Windows 2000. Does anyone know if Notes 5.0.3 will work with Windows 2000?

If it doesn't, does anyone know if there is a support download that make it compatible and, if so, what the designation is? I looked on the IBM/Lotus Notes website but didn't find anything that seemed relevant.

Thanks!

Before we upgraded to 5.0.5 and later versions, we ran 5.0.3 for a short time (about a month) and did not suffer problems. Of course, we may not have given it enough time to develop long-term problems.
If you can push your system to 5.0.5, I know that works consistently well with Win 2000, having run it for nearly a year on some computers. Even better is pushing towards 5.0.8 and higher, if you can.

Wew've had 5.0.3 for 18 months, and it's very compatible with Win2K. Have also used 5.0.4, 5.0.8, 5.0.9, and 5.0.11. All are fine with Win2K, and have used the last three with XP with no problem. One problem on 3,4, and occasionally 8, is that while composing a new Message, the backspace and arrow keys will stop responding. The immedate workaround is to place the cursor with the mouse, and use the delete key - a better one is to click on the Welcome Screen on the Notes Taskbar, then go back to the item. The problem has been happening much less since our Win2K upgraded to SP2 and then SP3. Keeping your Windows patched is the key - the Notes client coding is higher quality than Windows itself, I think! Fred Wagner
