We have an HP/Compaq nc6000 P-4 portable computer.
After pressing the on button the power light flashes for a moment, it shuts off then comes back on for just a second, and shuts off again, and keeps cycling like that. We tried holding the on button for 2' to drain excess power, it then came on for almost 5' but shut off again and repeated the same thing as before. It doesn't have a battery but that shouldn't matter since we're using the AC adapter.
Has anyone seen this problem before? We're considering we may have to send it in for repairs.

Send it in for repairs.

There is a fault in the power sensing circuitry, and/or, the physical connection of A/C plug to laptop.

This is most certainly an issue that requires a Warranty return.

Appreciate the suggestion. We will do that.
