I have a user who is partially sighted and is having problems using Notes R5.
To enable him to operate with most applications he has sets his system display to high contrast black.
First problem is that the whiteish background in Notes is too bright for him and makes reading the screen almost impossible.
Second problem is that with the text in black, several boxes are also black and therefore you can see what they contain. As an example if you change your display to high contrast black and look at your workspace all of the boxes are black with black writing.
I've been trying to find a way to change the properties of Notes so that I can manually alter the display settings or better still force Notes to use the system display settings already set up for other applications. Notes help suggests that it "supports" the systems display settings, but I can't see how. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If you go into the notes.ini file and type the following at the bottom Display_font_adjustment=3

Then save the file and reinstall notes, it should be a lot better for your user

Any problems give me a shout

You really shoudldn't have to do a reinstall for a modification of the .ini, any changes should be detected on next launch. However if the change doesn't take then instead of reinstalling check the ini file for a "setup=##" line usually set to 51 or 52. Change this to 0 (Zero). this will force Notes to request user info like a new setup without having to overwrite all the users existing files like a reinstall would.

Sorry, I meant modify the ini file and the RESTART notes, my mistake
