Try changing youe default printer and see if that makes a difference. Access uses the devcaps (Device Capabiites) of the current printer driver and tries to render these to the devcaps of your screen. Any slight bug in the printer driver can cause funky stuff to happen.
I work for a company with 30000+ employees, and our favoured model of printer insists on showing some print previews in landscape althoough they print fine.
