Not scanning all the computers to get an accurate report?

Where do i go to see if all the servers/workstations/clients (although all I care about are the servers but I'll take what I can get right now) have been inventoried specifically for security patch installation status? I use the Security Update Inventory tool to scan the clients so as to populate the MBSA package with all of new security patches. But whenever I look at the Advertisement status I never see all my servers as clients where the advertisement actually runs.

Better yet what advertisement/package do I need to run against a specific collection to ensure my inventory collection is based off the systems i need the information from?

When I try to run the report “Software updates with count of applicable and installed computers” it does not display an accurate count of the patches I just installed on all the servers. Not all the servers were installed with the package I deployed … since some servers had to be down outside the maintenance window many were updated manually with Windows Update. But that shouldn’t effect the reporting on the client … so how do I force all clients in a collection to do an inventory and view that report?

I need to report to management the status of my patch installation to all the servers but have not had much success in finding a good report or ensuring the accuracy of that report.
