Hi,

We jsut changed our ISP and we are facing a big problem now. We are able to send messages outside but there are no incoming mesages from outside(hotamil,yahoo,etc.). The error that we get is "Delivery to the following recipients failed".

I think th MX record at our ISP is not configured correctly. Does the hostname have to be FQDN? Our private and public domain names are different. I used nslookup to view the DNS entry for our server and the hostname configured by our ISP is different than our internal hostname.

private hostname of exchage server: server1.domain1.com
public (ISP) configure hostname: server2.domain2.com

Please can someone help me?

You probably need to edit your recipient policy so the server knows it is responsible for that domain.

Open ESM
Expand Recipients | Recipient Policies
Right-click the Default Policy | Properties
Select Email Addresses (Policy) tab
Click New
Click SMTP Address | OK
Enter the public domain name in the following format:
@domain.com
OK
Again right-click Default Policy | Apply this policy now

Should work now.
Post back here if you still have problems.
