Not printing in win98

I am having a problem with printing using Paradox 4.5 for DOS in Windows 98.

When I try to print using the command
REPORT RPTARINV 1
I get the message
PRINTER NOT RESPONDING. FIX AND PRESS ANY KEY.

The command
REPORT OUTPUT RPTARINV 1 SCREEN
works okay.
The command
RUN NOREFRESH "TYPE STMNT.SC > PRN"
also works okay.

I have; changed print cables, reinstalled Windows98, and reinstalled the printer. The problem still persists.

I have two computers. All of the commands work okay on the computer with Windows 95 on it.

I suspect somewhere there is a setting that I have not set correctly but I cannot find it. Any suggestions.
