Hello,

This just occurred this morning. Phones that were able to make long distance calls yesterday are no longer able to. We can dial local area codes, but not anything outside the general area. When we do, we receive a message back saying, "Not in Service".

Any ideas?!

Thanks!

Sounds like your long distance lines are down. Are you using seperate T1's for Locals & Long Distance?

I am assuming that the Not in Service is the display info on your telephone. but need a bit more info from you on this.

Have you gone to your Telco demark and hooked up a phone to your outside lines and tried dialing long distance?

What exactly are you dialing? 9 1 XNX NNX XXXX ?

do you have pool access codes in place or are you using Destination codes?
if so:
Have you checked your routes and destination codes and made sure you have a code of 91 set up?

Boy do I feel like a ding bat...
A year ago when we had our telecom switched from one company to the other, the network cable going from the Phone system to the T1 was never switched.
It took this forum, plus one and half hours with the phone maintenance to determine this.

Now we're back up and working.

Thanks!
