Well, I requested this forum, and it happened. Thank You.

Here is my first post.

I am curently using NAV 7.0, and have set up a quarantine server for our user community. When system center discovers a virus on one of my clients, it does not forward the virus to the quarantine server. I have to go to the client, and delete it from there machine. Has anyone come across this ?

I have worked out many many bugs w/ this software, and will help anyone who posts in this forum.

We have the same trouble - found a setting on the server that was not set. Will check which setting it was.

We cannot automate our def updates so we do that manually to the server which then automatically puts them to the client correctly. How do we get the server to go get the right updates?

Our clients only notify about having viruses when they receive an update, rather than doing it automatically. The same viruses / files / users come up every time as if it is not deleting the files.

not an easy piece of software.

Hey...We had the same problem with the definitions not being updated.

Your not going to beleive this, but ver 7.5 fixed that problem ! Everything works as it should except the quarantine. I have not updated our Quarantine server yet, but have to tell you ver 7.5 really is a huge improvemnt.
Everything just WORKS !

As for 7.0, i found that scheduling a def update worked better then having the server contact symantec after x amount of time.

Hope this helps

We have 7.5 and the schedule is set to every 24 hours. Does not want to play. It is on NT Server but needs to pull down the updates for 9x too.

You need to check that the port is configured on the server. We missed that setting, but having found it and set it I'm still not sure it is working.
