Does anyone know how to turn off/disengage the 5 second minimum message on the Nortel Voice Mail System 4.0??? If anyone leaves a message that is less than 5 seconds, it is never delivered to the mailbox.

What service class is the voice mail set up with?

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but if a recording is too short doesn't the VM tell you "Recording To Short" and not deliver a message. I don't believe there is any way to change this, not even in Class of Service. Remember correct me if I'm wrong.

It does tell you it is too short when recording your automated attendant and voicemail greeting but if someone calls you and says "Hey it's me, call me when you get this" and they hang up, they don't have a way to hear the message is too short because they have already hung up the phone on their end.

Dumb suggestion here....
But there are so many problems with VMail 4.0 why don't you upgrade with the patch to 4.0C or what ever version it is and see if that doesn't solve you problems. I don't experience this issue on VMail 3.x, Flash XX or CP 100. So it would appear as if V4.0 strikes again. ???
