not getting paper from bottom tray

Hi all

I have a phaser 740 with duplexer. For some reason, the printer will not get paper from the bottom tray. I would have thought that once the top tray was empty, the second tray would automatically start being used as the paper source.

Is the fact that the second tray is not being utilized something abnormal? If so, what should I be checking?

Any info will be appreciated.

Check your settings and make sure that the paper source is not set for a specific tray as default. If it is this would explain why it does not pick from the other trays. Set it for auto select and make sure the paper type for each tray are the same.
