not getting linuxconf

Yup. Forget it. I don't like Linuxconf and I have reasons for it. I suggest using specialised configuration tools, or configure your system manually.
If you resist, well, you can always download linuxconf rpm from RedHat's site and install it (rpm -iv linuxconf*)

Linuxconf does not get installed by default on 7.2 but if you need it yuo can install it from cd number 2
mount the cd and then
rpm -ivh /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/Rpms/linuxconf-1.25r7-3.i386.rpm
This is the version shipped with the installation CD
