not eveything prints Indesign document

I am a newbie to Indesign, but know PageMaker quite well. My first job is a brochure that requires a .25 margin on all sides. I set the document, but when I print it (to 4 different printers, laser and inkjet) one side will only print to .55 margin... the other sides print to .25. What gives? How can I change it?

Help.

You cannot change the printer specs... most printers have a blank leading edge and margin used for paper feeding and registration.

Your only recourse is to purchase a printer that has no margins (edge to edge printing) or to print the document and manually trim the wider edge.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

BUT..... my office neighbor has the same computer and software printing to the same printer.... and his works fine..... prints to .2 margins all the way around.... it is NOT the printer.

Have you checked document setup and printer setup in PM? If the printer is capable of printing to those margins, then your setup is wrong somewhere.

Oops, my original message may have indicated I was working in PageMaker... it is not, it is an InDesign file... I have checked the document setup and is set to .25 all the way around and shows the same on the screen - it just will not print it that way... printer setup is set to 100%.

If your co-worker can print the same doc with proper margins, then compare the document set-up as well as printer setup on the 2 computers, somewhere there is probably something you are missing.
