Hi

I have a simple 3-tiered report which has the following format:

Group 1 - Name of person who raised an order
Group 2 - Name of supplier they raised it on
Group 3 - Purchase order number
Details - of purchase order

This report is scheduled to print every morning however I have a strange problem in that occassionally/ intermittently the contents of Group 2 won't print for every supplier although the Group 3 header and details do print. Despite this in Report Designer view I can see all the Group2 header names listed in the left hand panes report tree.

It tends to happen with the last 2 or 3 suppliers in the list but that could be a red herring.

The upshot of course is that it looks like there's a whole lot of p/o's lodged with whoever the last supplier was whose name printed and this causes problems as people try to follow up on orders.

Any help appreciated

Can you verify that the field that's being grouped on, and the field being displayed in the group header are the same field? As opposed to grouping on the id, and displaying the name, for example?

Yes the field being grouped on and the field being displayed are the same (Creditors shortname from the Creditors master table) although that is the only field in use on this report from that table - other fields coming from the p/o master file which contains the creditors account code but not their actual name.

This mornings reports had Group2 names missing but different ones to yesterday! I notice its often when the Group2 header would be printing at the bottom of one page or the top of the next. But not in every case!

Let me know if this is still causing your problems.
