I've been asked by a few people in my group who use our site if they can have e-mailed updates. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on this, first as an application and also as a moderation.
The application I can figure out pretty easily. I'm more interested in how one might apply a e-mail notification system. I don't want to deluge people with avalanches of e-mails but I want to keep them up to date on whats changed on the site. I assume a mailing list is in order, but what have you used to filter e-mails. Only send out once a week? Only certain topics?
I'm planning on this to auto generate by php. Any comments are helpful. Thanks.
