HI,

Every month or so we get a message when trying to access a mapped drive on a server 2003. "Not enough resources to service this command" There is plenty hard drive space and when we reboot the server the issue is resolved.

Don't really want to have to take the server down during work time but users need access to the resource.

Any ideas ?

thanks

do you have exchange 2003 running on a DC. If so this is not recommended. The probelm is meemory. Search microsoft for memory optimization in exchange 2003 this will tell you the reason

We faced the same issue and it was related to backup software memory leak. This can also be caused by Anti-virus software.
In task manager you can track open handles to see if any service or task is not releasing the handles.
In our case we applied the patches that Microsoft and Veritas recommended and still experienced the problem.
I set up a scheduled task to stop the BackupExec services in the morning after nightly backups and then start the services in the evening before the backups ran. Not the most sophisticated resolution, however it worked.
Hope this helps.

yes sgwisby is right this could be the cause as well. Are you using Mcafee Virus Scan version 8.0i if so try runniong the latest patch on the server

We have seen a problem on a lot of our Win2003 servers what sounds like this.
The problem was a memory leak in Sophos Antivirus
