I'm trying to set up a Deskjet 6980 on an XP workstation, networked. Everything is fine with the printer, and got it working on 2 other workstations, but here is my problem on the third:
The installer says that the machine does not have enough RAM. It says "currently installed: 254M Minimum: 256M Recommended: 256M". And it won't let me continue! Something tells me that the printer will not miss the additional 2M RAM... The installer is not a self-extracting file, so I can't just pull out the files and then point to the drivers from the "Add Printer..." dialog...
HP's chat support said the ONLY way around this is to add more RAM, which I find ridiculous to say the least. Is there a way I can get around this nonsense?
