Minor problem, perhaps only a one time occurrence,

More than anything else, this is menat for your entertainment:

Today I receided Error 1410 caused by SYS(1104). That means purge memory causes "Unable to create temporary work files" or in English: Not enough memory (on disc) to free memory (in RAM). AFAIK that's not a permanent error, I asked the user to redo whatever caused that and we'll see.

The problem can't really be disc space, nor access denied to TEMP, that would cause all kind of problems. Maybe that user is one of those never shutting down his client or this application. We'll see.

Have a nice day,
Olaf.

There you go:

4MB on drive C. Very simple reason.
The drive is so small, Windows should warn about insufficient disc space all the time. Well, that's how it is sometimes.

Now let's here it. I bought a 16KB RAM module for the commodore Vic-20 way back then for a fortune.

Bye, Olaf.

Not enough memory to purge memory" reminds of my favourite VFP error message:

Fatal error 182 while attempting to report error 182

That's a genuine error message, by the way (I've got a screen shot to prove it).

My father once had an error

Error -1044: No Error

Don't ask me for the real error number, but I saw it myself, too.

Bye, Olaf.

My favorite FoxPro error is still "Invalid Buff Dirty".

But our entire industry is known for inscrutable error messages. Anyone remember "Keyboard missing. press F1 to continue"?

Sharing our favourite error messages is always a good way of passing an idle moment. Here's one I came across in a Windows 2000 login dialogue:

Your Password Must Be at Least 18770 Characters and Cannot Repeat Any of Your Previous 30689 Passwords

And back in the VFP world, I expect we've all seen "CANCEL or SUSPEND is not allowed", accompanied by four buttons: Cancel, Suspend, Ignore and Help.

Our favorite message has to be "Cannot Quit Visual Foxpro!"

Bye, Olaf.
