I use a continous form (inventory items) to enter the physical inventory count. After 80 to 200 enteries, I get the message that there is not enough memory to update display, the help icon develops a pink square backoround, the screen flickers and becomes eratic. The message text may disapear, leaving only it's blank box. I have to close the program and turn the computer off. Upon re-start the program works fine for another 80 to 200 enteries, then repeats.

Does anyone know what memory the error message is talking about ? Installed RAM ? Vidio memory or some memory cash setting in Access or windows ? and what to do about this "out of Memory" problem ? Specific details follow:

Windows 98.
Access 2000.
Stand alone Gateway GP5-2000 computer w/intel pentium.
256 K of ram (This program also goes "Out Of Memory" on this same continous form when run on another computer with 128 k of ram otherwise no problems with the smaller memory).
No other programs running.
1.96 GB HD, 305 Mb free.
Data base and tables not split.
Data base and tables size: 1.4 Meg (freshly compacted).
308 records in table being updated
each record has about 25 fields
only one field [Count]in each record is being updated (numeric 2 or 3 characters).

Proceedure: I open the application, open the main menu, press a command button to go to the continous form. I type the number of items counted and hit "enter" which records the entry and moves to next record.

Thanks for knowledge and time in solving my "OUT OF MEMORY" problem. Sincerely, Jim Salter

Dear Jim,

Not sure why you are getting the message memory error,

But, try this:

Instead of using a continuous form, try using a 'sub form'

That might solve your problem and still yet you scroll thru all the records.

Good Luck,
