Guys!
I am receiving " not enough memory available now " while executing svmon command.
The command is not able to show any statistics about memory usage on system ... it just reports the above message.

The machine is p630 server with AIX 5.2 ML03 ( 64 bit kernel) with Oracle 9.2 & HACMP 5.1 but the problem does not seems to be DB related as just after rebooting the server W/o HACMP being started the error repeats.

The problem seems more critical as fuser command fails with exactly same message and hence HACMP takeover process also fails.....

physical memory= 4GB
and nmon shows around 50% of realmem free

no change in default parameters of vmm

Dear,
There is no error entries on AIX level....also there is lot of space in all filesystems....
However whenever i execute svmon or fuser commands, the error says... not enough memory available now

hello,

you should check if your operating system is in a software consistent state, it looks like you have some filesets which are not to the same maintenance level.

what does
instfix -iv | grep _ML
says ? if you have a message such as "not all filesets for maintenance level xxx were found", you should investigate with oslevel to see what filesets are not to your current ML.

what does
lppchk -v says ?

regards,

We had the a similar problem with the sar command, it was giving the same error. We upgraded the bos.acct fileset inorder to fix it.
