Windows 2000 Advanced Server running terminal services.
The system event log regularly shows the following error :

"Not enough virtual paging file or disk quota to run specified command"

The error message makes no reference as to which command is being run.

The system has 2 logical drives, C and D, 4Gb and 32Gb respectively.

The page file is located on D only and is 2048 Mb.

Does anyone have nay ideas as to why the error message appears?

Nick

Windows likes to have at least 2Mb of paging file in the root, although Microsoft recommend you have a dynamic file in the root and a fixed one on another drive.

My choice is to have a fixed file on both.

If you're running Terminal Services, I assume you have a substantial amount of memory. Make sure the swapfile is at leat double the physical amount of RAM. This is almost essential on a Terminal Server.

If you want to track down which program is giving the message, try running Filemon from
Hope this helps
