I desingned a lab of 35 computers IBM branded. I followed all the wiring standards cable catagory 6 used with faceplate, patche panel and connected with Cisco 2950 series switch.

Problem is despite everything looks ok I am unable to connect these computers at 100mbs. Only able to connect at 10 Half duplex speed. One more thing there was also a earhing problem in this building which corrected later on. But still unable to connect at full duplex.

can you please tell what can be the reasons?

Thanks

Are the network cards nailed up to 100 full and are the switch ports on the 2950 nailed up to 100 full?

Chris.

Did you happen to test the cables with a certification machine, or even a wire map tester?
How are the cables terminated, this sounds like a possible cable problem, but need more info to be sure.

Does connecting any of the IBMs to the 2950 directly with just a pre-made profesional cat 6 patch cable work? That would eleminate everything but the in-the-wall cable.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
