I have a Compaq Proliant ML350 and I'm trying to boot from a cd but I am not able to, it skips it and goes on to the harddrive. In the list it's: Cd, then floppy, then harddrive. Is there any key I have to press or is it that some cd's just won't boot to?

does it see the cd?

we had a lot of 350 and 370's that when they shipped to us we needed to go in take cables out of cd and just put them back in

think dlt had pulled them a wee bit

It has seen cd's in the past, but turns out that it's just this cd that it doesn't see. I burned the iso onto the cd but it doesn't recognize it.

i know on the 370's the cd was flakey (the old 370 677's)
the cd's worked but the booteablity didnt

in the bios the boot order is correct ?

maybe try to get a replacement cd drive from compaq - a 350 is still well in warranty and it's next day

Yes the boot order is correct in the bios, it goes cd, then floppy then harddrive. I might just go ahead and get a replacement for it. Thanks for your help.
