I am not sure why,
but after I upgraded from NT to 2000,
from Backup Exec 5 to 6,
I no longer able to append Differential Backup to a media that contains the last Full Backup.
The log said there's no appendable media.
I have set the Media Set for Full Backup and Differential Backup to:
No Overwrite for 2 weeks
No Append for 0 days (always appendable)
but still have error appending to the backup tape.
Anyone has idea how can I solve the problem?
Thanks!

LLAM:

"No Append for 0 days (always appendable)" >> this is your problem. That setting means that you have told backup exec that you NEVER want the backup to be appended. Change the append prtoection period to "infinite - allow" this setting means that as long as there is space on that piece of media, the backup will be appended to any exisiting backup sets on that media.

Hope this helps
