Hi:

I am trying to use Crystal Reports version 8.5 with SQL Server 2000. I go the dialog box in Crystal Reports for connecting to the SQL Server database. After clicking on 'More Data Sources', then 'Microsoft SQL Server', then 'Make New Connection' after typing in the correct Server name then checking the 'Trusted Connection' box (I'm using Windows NT authentication), I go to the drop-down box, click on the down arrow and scroll to find the correct Database name (ARS).

That all works find. However, after the connection is made, only two System tables from the ARS database appear (e.g. syscontraints). None of the User tables appear that are needed for reports.

Is this a security issue in SQL Server or does it have something to do with Crystal Reports?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Cheryl

You might want to check file->options->database->show and make sure "tables," "views," and/or "stored procedures" are checked.

Hi lbass:

I tried what you suggested in Crystal Reports.

Still only the System tables (sys...) appeared for the user(developer).

I believe that the problem may have something to do with the developer's user account created in SQL Server.
I believe that the user may need an user account created in SQL Server that grants more permissions to the user (more than read-only access to the User tables in SQL Server).

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Cheryl
