Im having problems with a report that is getting its information from a SQL 2000 database.

The report does not show all the information from the database. I know this as when I look at the information in Great Plains itself there are more entries. I've checked to make sure there are no filters, etc that would affect the information with no luck still.

Im using Crystal Reports 9 and Great Plains 6 if this helps at all.

Thanx

Are you sure that the info in Great Plains is all coming from the same table? It is not unusual for Accounting packages to show in one screen the union of two or more tables. I don't know the GP database, but many packages store historical data separate from the current month or year data.

Also, when you say "when I look in Great Plains..." are you looking at a GP application screen, or are you querying the database using Query Analyzer or another Query tool?

If you are looking at a GP application screen, the you should try to query the database in another tool. If you have access to Query Analyzer or another SQL query tool, you can try the following:

Run your report in Crystal and then go to Database | Show SQL Query. Copy the contents of the dialog box and then go to open up Query Analyzer and paste the query into QA and run it. You'll be able to compare how many records are coming back as opposed to what's coming back in Crystal.

If you have access don't have access to a query tool, talk to your database administrator and see if he or she can't run the exact query you see in the Show SQL Query dialog.
