Hey guys,

Sorry but maybe someone has a quick fix for me? I recently started having problems with downloading. When I ckick on a majority of the sites within the browser to download a zip or file it automagically goes to the temp directory and won't allow me to point to the directory of my choosing to download the file to. Is there some way I can correct this or any clue as to what I may have changed to effect this operation???? Any help much welcomed.

Hello Dostani!

You will need to specify Default IE Download Directory in Windows Registry.

This changes the default directory where downloads initiated in Internet Explorer are stored on the system.

[Start] [Run] [Regedit]
Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
Modify/Create the Value Name [Download Directory] according to the Value Data listed below.
Data Type: REG_SZ [String Value] // Value Name: Download Directory
Value Data: [Enter Path to Directory to be Assigned as Defualt for Downloads]
Exit Registry and Reboot

If "sramesh2k's" fix works you wont need this.

Try System Restore to get back to when everything worked.

These are old MSKB articles but they might be what you are looking for.
