not able to view index.html

i have just installed apache for the 9th or so time.

THis time i used fox installer

the installer went fine without errors. I now want to see my server. So i open up apache and open up explorer and go to

http://localhost/.

and

http://127.0.0.1/.

and i see nothing. In the conf file it points to c:/fox/www/

inside this folder is index.html. But the server wont show it why?

i also tried localhost/index.html
but it didnt work please help.

I had this problem when i installed apache by hand also.

I am running it with php, mysql, perl, phpmyadmin and hermes.

Please help

It sounds like apache isn't running. If you are using the monitor, it may tell you that the service isn't installed. It's very hard to make an educated guess since you gave us very little information about the errors you get when you try to browse to your webpage. What does your browser say? What do your logs say?
