Dear Team,
Am not able to varyonvg....The below mentioned error came """The volume group cannot be varied on because there are no good copies of the descriptor area

Did you have a disk crash or HW error?

How many hdisks are in this VG?

I know there may be a way to recover a lost VGDA, with readvgda.

Search for corrupt vgda readvgda and see if you find something useful.

For the VG you are trying to varyon - are they all local disks? If so, whomever has physical access to the box should check for failed disks.

If the disks are SAN, have your SAN person check to see if there are any failed disks on that end and/or make sure the disk hasnt been re-allocated elsewhere (seen this happen a few times).
