Hi Guyz,

I know that reports based on "File based events" would kick off every time the File appears on the specified location. Doesn't replacing the trigger file with the same name Kick off the reports again? For example; if I schedule the report 'Daily with events' and put the trigger file "Trigger1" then the report runs today and if I replace it tomorrow with the same name "Trigger1" the report wont run tomorrow.

Any ideas?

Environment: Crystal Reports X1, BO enterprise 11.5, sql server

Thanks

Replacing/Updating the file doesn't fire the trigger. It's been on my BOBJ "wish list" for a while.

We use a Scheduled MS-Batch file to DELETE the trigger-file at midnight each day.

Then the new file is written (and the trigger fired-off) when the process ends at approx 2:30 AM.

The file has to be deleted and then be put back in the folder. The trick is that it has to be missing for at least as long as the polling interval for the Event Server. I suggest that you have the process that needs to be run before the reports run delete the file at the very beginning of its processing and then create it again when its done.
