Not able to telnet xyplex terminal server??

Hi, i'm a Technical Support from KL, M'sia. Currently having a problem with Xyplex Terminal Server (In Reach 8000). I'm not able to telnet the port after did the parameterize. I did try so many way but failed. I did configure my laptop IP add. accordingly to the terminal server and connect crossover cable from my laptop to the 'ethernet' port at the back of the terminal server. Appreciated if someone can show me the setup/configuration.

Can you use a serial cable and connect to the command port?
