not able to give anyone a star from my ie 7 browser 1

I have windows 7 ie browser and can do everything except star a post, do not know why, any help is most appreciated!

Looking at the source of the page, it appears as though javascript is used to perform those actions. Is it possible that you have javascript disabled in your browser settings?

where exactly would I look for this as I went to internet options/Advanced tab/ thanks for the help
