Hi as a neebee This may be a simple question but it has given me a headache.
A certain BCM 400 took about 2 hours to be able to log into using the same user and password it would evenualy let me in, now when I try I can not even ping the ports, I rebooted the system with the same results all came back up ok so it is not a hard disk fault. any ideas ????

Is the phone system functioning properly, or does it seem like it's freezing?

We had the same problem and it was related to the function tray. Is the voicemail still working?
We were told that if you have the old Capacitors the tray needs to be replaced.
We replaced our tray and wer then able to get in just fione.
Just one possible idea..

Hi the system is behaving itself and voicemail is working ok, I can get into programming using the phone and make alterations.

Using the phone to make changes, is not supported by Nortel and can cause curruption.

Sounds like your CPU is maxing out for some reason. Launch BCM monitor and look at the CPU usage. If it consistently at or near 100%, then contact your vendor for assistance.
