Not able to be parsed

If something is not able to be parsed, would I be able to say that it is not parseable, parsable, parse-able, or are those all made-up words that just sound like they might be right?

On dictionary.com, the phrase "does not parse easily" is used as an alternative...I just wondered if there was one word that would do the job.

To get "serious" for a second, I'm not sure 'inseparable' is a good synonym for what Dan is describing. Something that is unable to be parsed (whatever name you give it) has the following characteristic: there is no logical method by which division into the shorter segments (originally concatenated to make up the longer string) may be achieved.

The shorter segments may be inseparable, but the string is "unparseable".

Would you say that the string has a pattern?

One of my favorite expressions comes to mind. In this case, however, it should be switched around to "unable to see the trees for the forest".

I'm not so sure about that. When the negative prefix 'un-' is used with action verbs, more often than not, the meaning is one of action reversal, as in do and undo. In English, there really isn't a good negative prefix for action verbs that means 'action not possible'.

I meant to add, that when the negative prefix 'un-' is used to mean not, it's usually applied to adjectives.
