not able to barge in 1

All exts are set to "not asigned" in auto ext privacy. When a call is in progress, I should be able to press the line, then speaker to barge in on the active call correct?

I may be missing something here, any ideas? I tried putting a privacy button on the ext, then answer call w/out the privacy button lit, and try to barge in from another phone, didn't work.

Myabe I asm misunderstanding this, but I can not seem to barge in, and I am a bit confused. Did I read the user guide for joining a call wrong?
Any suggestions?

aarenot - Feature 59 - is it "91-I"??

Avaya had a problem with the memory batteries not working, so they did a software patch that just loads the backup on power up. Unfortunatly, it also makes all ports private, even if they are programmed as not assigned.

They have a newer patch, "91-J" that fixes that glitch.

I will go back when the dispatcher ever schedules me. It was a new install today, and I have not reported the issue yet.

Avaya should really send the upgrade with every old release automatically.

To make sure I understand, this "I" makes you unable to change the auto ext privacy, even if you turn it on, and back off? I did try that.

I think I will suggest we go back to selling the R6 until Avaya puts the latest release on the hardware out of the box. Margins are small enough without Avaya shooting you in the foot with extra work.

Exactly. You can join a call with Intercom-6-8-Line Number if the extension already on it is programmed as not private. Kills you on VM ports, 'cause you can't easily retreive a call that slipped into VM/AA.

The patch is programmed on an 8meg linear flash card, takes about a minute to install. It's your distributor that let it out without being patched.
