Got a CS1000E system that went down twice overnight and now not able to access the system via the TTY ports, either locally or through the modem(SEB). Tried a different cable but still cant't access. System is up and running.

What type of CS1000?? Cabinet, Chassis, MG, what? Also what type of processors? CoRes ?

Cabinets are the old OPT 11 type an i have the CP MGS

So the CP MGS is a CoRes configurstion, meaning it is linux based with the CS1000 application deployed on it. Are you connected to the faceplate of the CP MGS or are you connected to the 3 port octopus cable off of the bottom of the cabinet?

Those ports could be disabled, they are actually part of the MGC portion of that card. Do you have the cable that connects to the faceplate of the CPMGS card?

FYI

Cabling the CP MG card
The CP MG card provides two serial port connections on the CP MG
faceplate. An NTC325AAE6 serial port adapter kit is required to connect a
9-pin or 25-pin serial cable to the RJ-45 connector on the faceplate.

I would see if you could access it through Putty via ethernet and see if those tty ports are disabled.

I can't remember if the remote guy said all the ports were enabled. Is there a way to enable to ports other than LD 37 ? Should the 3 port cable be on the cabinet with the MGC card then, because it's on the main cabinet under the CP MGS card. All i have on the CP MGS card as far as ports are two TTY RJ 45's numbered 1 & 2.

They have to be enabled in ld 37. But if the switch is up and running you should be able to access it over ethernet if it has PTY's built. Otherwise you will need the cable I referenced. The 3 port cable can be where ever the tty's are built, either the CPMGS or the cabinet with the MGC.

Thank you for your help......... I'll put an order in for that cable NTC325AAE6.

In the mean time see if you can Putty into it via ethernet to that IP address of the CPMGS card. That may be your savior. But remember if you do this you will have to log into the linux and then do the cslogin command to get to the PBX
