OK, I suppose that I screwed up - I bought Norton SystemWorks Premier Edition to renew my expired 2006 edition (bought it at the store and I have the discs - $100.00).
I installed everything from the CD with some difficulty ( I learned by searching the Internet after several failures that I had to download special Symantec software that would uninstall previous Norton products before I could load the new stuff - NOTHING in the "manual" told me that). I was able to "activate" the Norton Antivirus but NOTHING that I have tried will allow me to "activate" the Norton Save & Restore. I find that the "help" offered on the various Symantec web sites is ABSOLUTELY useless and I keep getting messages that tell me that unless I activate Norton Save & Restore it will "expire" in 30 days.
The Symantec "support" web sites just run me around in circles with NO HELP AT ALL. Symantec has effectively isolated themselves from contact with the users (me). Then I am led to site that tell me I must PAY EXTRA TO GET SUPPORT!!!!!?????? I already paid for this software and they want more to $upport it???? What is wrong with this picture?
I tried to get into the "chat" system but it never gets past the part where it is "attempting to load support software"....I (stupid me) let it sit there for 40 minutes doing nothing, what is up with that?
Knowing what I know now I would NOT have purchased this product but now I am stuck with it and cannot get support from Symantec.
Can anybody advise me on "activating" Norton Save & Restore?
