Norton (Symantec) Antivirus

When I installed Norton (Symantec) Antivirus, from the Systemworks 2000 suite on my Win98 PC I keep getting blue screen errors with VXD ...(loads of hex numbers) messages, which usually ends up in having to reboot. If I deinstall it it goes away. What's going on.

Any help greatly appreciated.
