Norton Speed Disk Troubles

I have been trying to run Norton Speeddisk, which came in the "Norton Utilities: 2002". Does this program have a problem with Windows XP Profesisonal? I cannot get it to defrag my hard drive..... It will start defragmenting it, and then get to about 4% and my computer will just freeze. It will not respond to anything, until I hit the restart button, and then it just boots up normally as if nothing had happened.....

There is still 21.2 Gigs free on the drive, and I have 512 memory/Athlon XP 1800+/GF 4 Ti4200...... Anyone have a clue?

Have you installed all the updates through LiveUpdate? Also, if you are running another company's anti-virus program, such as PC-Cillin or McAfee, you will need to pause that before it will run. Also, is your Windows XP up to date? Check these and post back. We'll get you optimized...8)

I have check Live-update, but thats isnt the problem. The only Anti-virus I have running is Norton, so that should be fine, but I will try dis-abling it before running it. I will try the Windows Update and get back to you though!
