Hi:
I seem to have an issue with NAV 2002. When I open up Outlook Express for the first time in the day NAV pops up saying it is scanning an outgoing message. However, I have not even got Outlook Express fully open let alone sent a message. All of my e-mails are sent immediately. I do not save them to send later. This occurs only on initial startup and only once a day. I have purged all e-mail folders and still this phantom e-mail seems to be sent. Nothing in sent e-mail folder. I've run NAV, oline housecall, Nauri livecall, online McAfee, Adaware, Spybot, and Cleanup and nothing shows up. I used HiJack this to check what is happening but nothing look really suspicious there either. What is left? Anyone ever experience this or have any ideas?
Thanks,
Papa1

Sure sounds like you have done a thorough cleaing. Assuming that's the case. You have 2 likely causes.

1. Norton. Uninstall manually, then download their "full uninstall utility" (not sure what the exact name is), and run that. Reinstall, try again.

2. Outlook Express damaged. Make a copy of your dbx files, put them elsewhere, then delete the originals. Outlook Express will recreate them. If that solves it, go to File>Import, and bring back your old e-mails.

Mattjurado;
You were bang on with your advice! It was Outlook Express that was corrupted. I've mentally filed your advice for further use. Perhaps I can someday help someone else using your tips. Thank You so much. The uneasy feeling that I had a hidden trojan or virus of some type is gone. A Star for you!
