Norton Live Update Error LU1853

I just installed Norton Antivirus 2004 Professional Edition. I'm running Windows 2000 OS.

When I try to run Live Update, I get an "LU1853" error. I went to the Symantec site to search the Knowledge Base. It said to delete the "Downloads" folder in the Live Update Folder of Symantec.

I did delete the folder, but I still get the error.

Anyone know what else can be done to correct this problem?

Okay, another one!

See the thread I started on 17 January, and another thread from 29 January. Symantec apparently doesn't know how to fix the problem. You can try uninstalling completely and then starting over again, and this may help, but probably not.

I gave up onLive Update, and download the latest NAV definitions update from download.com. That seems to work.
