I am attempting to set up a LAN at home. I have 2 computers running Windows 2000 attached to a NetGear FVS318 router (which is attached to a DSL modem) through ethernet cable. One computer can ping the other computer but not vice versa. I did some research and found some articles which suggested adding the i.p. address of the local computer to the other computer's Trusted Zone in Norton Internet Security to allow network connections to be made. If I add a i.p. address such as 192.168.x.x as a trusted computer is it opening up my LAN to be hacked from the Internet?
