I imaged my Dell Latitude's hard drive late last year, then tried to use it on a new hard drive when the original one died. Apparently I don't have a bootable cd in the set (7 of them). I used my XP Pro cd to reinstall the OS but would prefer the image over the new install. After installing Ghost on the newly installed XP, it goes thru the motions, reboots to dos, then says it cannot read any of the 7 CDs. Cd 1,2 and 3 are identified as spanned image files, 4 is part spanned and part .gho, and 5 thru 7 are .gho files. Any clue as to how to get that image to work?
Thanks!
Jim

Thanks for the reply, AckNack, I'll give it a try. The Latitude has a hot-swapable floppy drive, so I'll try the boot-cd option.

AckNack,
I'm having problems with your ghost boot cd instructions starting at step 9...what common section? Step 12...what :cdboot label? step 14...what :ghostfind label?

I'm using the same version of ghost that came with NSW2003 that I burned the image discs with. The only difference is that the Dell had XP Pro and my lab rat pc is Win98

Jim
ps: nice web site!

These are in the config.sys file. I'll edit that to make it more clear. Thanks.

I've only done this with Ghost 8.0 because I wanted to get everything on one CD.

You don't have to go through all this if you can use a boot floppy with ghost on it.

ps: thanks, it's got a long way to go. Never seems to be enough time in the day. :)
