Hi all,

I'm in charge for this summers clean up of my school's 450 computers. They are all Dells, and they're mostly just two or three different models. I good 80% of them haven't been rebuilt in at least three years and they are really bogging down from daily use.

The software I have is Windows XP Pro (for each desktop) and Norton Ghost 2002. I'd like to be able to create a image with Norton Ghost of a fresh installation of Windows and the normal programs (such as Microsoft Office). I'd have a different image for each model so I don't think I would have any hardware issues. I'd then like to place these images on a server located on campus, and then boot to that image and restore from it, without having to put any CD or software in the desktops I'm restoring to. Each tower has a Windows XP Pro license on the COA (I think that is what it is) sticker.

Now, even if I take an image of a system that has already been activated, when I restore that image onto another, the activation process would start over and then I'd have to enter in the key on the tower, correct?

If all the above is possible, can you guys give me links to articles and tutorials explaining how, everything from creating the ghost image to hosting it on the server and booting to it?

Thanks!
Brandon
