I am running Norton / Symantec Firewall with Windows XP Home and am having problems when listening to internet radio stations via Windows Media Player.

Some I can hear fine, others won't work when the Firewall is activated, however, I can hear all of them when the firewall is switched off.

Does anybody know what the problem is here and more importantly how to sort it out?

I've been told its something to do with a UCP problem, but don't ask me what a UCP is or does!

Thanks,

Nick.

Well I don't have the answer to your problem, but what I cann tell you is that I have Norton firewall and I can listen to radio stations just fine using Windows Media Player.

I use ZonaAlarm so I can't tell you how to get to these settings, but look for the Media player settings in the program access and make sure it allows all ports just not some of them. Maybe different channels use a different port and the firewall is blocking those.
