norton download

first of all hi,
right im having a slight problem with norton AV 4 i have just downloaded the latest live update and installed it and everything is downloading and working great untill i download the latest virus deffinitions it says its downloading and installing but when i go to refresh norton it still says that virus deffinitions are not up to date????? then i run live update again and ive gone through this process umpteen times and no joy!! has anyone had similar problems coz im tearing my hair out

Yes. Every second or third time I run Live Update something similar happens. I wait a bit until the hard drive is not being accessed. If no update, I run Live Update a second time; If that hasn't fixed it I run manual download; log off the internet; update from the manual file; turn off the computer. Reboot. So far, this has worked. Hope this helps.
