Norton Corrupted my user account

Installed Norton antivirus on my compaq and when I rebooted and attempted to log on I was immediately logged off. I can't get in safe mode cause it continually reboots if I try it. I don't know the administrator password and leaving it blank is not the right one. I don't have a CD to try and do a repair. Any ideas?

If you don't have the Win CD and don't know the ADM password, your situation is arduous ...

Did you try to reboot the system with the last valid configuration? To do that, you just need to bit F8 when the boot begin, and choose that.

Hi yes uninstall nortons get another antivirus that won,t cause that trouble as nortons have taken your system over, and if you have not got a disk or can't go to safe mode or do what the other posting saids then you will have to beg or buy a windows xp CD.

I have removed the HD and backed up the data on another computer. Put it back in and wiped it clean. It's not just a matter of re OS the drive. Thank you for your suggestions
