Seems like a good idea. Keeping you from browsing to known bad sites. Anyone have any trepidations regarding switching DNS away from your ISP or the privacy aspect (from the following article:

"When it comes to anything offered for free, one has to ask: Where’s the catch? There has to be something of value for the service providers. Most likely, both entities use the filtering process to gather information they can apply to their core business offerings. Symantec, for example, sees what websites customers visit. As noted on its privacy policy page, any data it might collect from site visits is discarded after two days.

Why not use something like McAfee Site Advisor instead of changing DNS servers? Less intrusive IMO and gives helpful information. Plus no data collection by another third party......

I don't like McScratchee in general. Not really any different than Norton (third party) is it?

Besides I've already decided to start giving this to customers. This was more of a philosophical question.

Understandable, third party yes, but unintrustive and non-data collecting if told you don't want to contribute. But to each his own. I'm not a supporter of McAfee products but this one is extremely user friendly and out of the way. Just gives visual clues to the content of the website and can block harmful.
Ill bow out so the philosophical debate on third party DNS and data mining can begin.

Yeah, that was my real point. They would basically know every site you went to, but I guess they need to to be able rate sites.
