Hi everyone, some semi-strange behaviour going on with Norton. I just wonder is this is a product of a virus or normal behaviour. The situation is as follows:
Norton client installed on our Mail Server (version 8.1.0.825 Corporate Edition). The client is up to date in regards to virus definitions as well as scan engine.
We had opened an e-mail while checking the mail queue (a message was stuck in the queue), this caused the w32.mimail virus to be triggered, thus replicating itself over and over again. The problem is that Norton did not catch the virus until after it had been triggered and started replicating .tmp files.
Shouldn't Norton have detected this virus as soon it was opened?? Instead of waiting until it had started replicating?? Any ideas??
